Soup

Soup is an easy way to increase our daily vegetable intake, with the vitamins they provide. Using the ingredients wisely can provide great benefits to our body while boosting immunity. Ingredients such as ginger, seaweed, cabbage, and carrots can provide various great health benefits to our daily intakes just in a bowl of soup (Magazine 2017). In the account of weight management, intervention studies reported that soup intake can aid weight management because it decreases people’s daily energy intake by filling our belly (Zhu, Hollies 2014).

Soup not only heals our body, at the same time, our souls too. Who does not want a bowl of warm soup on a rainy day, or sit down with your family to spread warmth and joy. If you don’t know, I am pure Asian we love soup in every meal of the day. My mom always tells me that eating soup is better than drinking soft drinks or juices when eating. My favorite soup of all time is - pumpkin soup! No matter if it's fall or summer or any season, pumpkin soup always brings me back to my childhood. Different from American families, my family likes to serve rice with soup, rarely bread. My grandma has this developed recipe for pumpkin soup that she always makes. Fun fact, this is not the only pumpkin, but various root vegetables as assistance to make this wonderful bowl of magic. Soup always feels homey and comfortable.
